A 21st Century Solution
For Shared Prosperity
Three Benefits of Universal Basic Income
A universal basic income would ensure folks had something to rely on when times get tough and stressful. It's a humane way to end poverty and offers security to people, often times for the first time in their life.
Proven To Work
A two year basic income study in Finland revealed that recipients "experienced significantly fewer problems related to health, stress, and ability to concentrate,” and that they were “considerably more confident in their own future and their ability to influence societal issues."
According to government statistics, a guaranteed basic income of $12,000 ends poverty for 43 million Americans. It will also allow entrepreneurs to start businesses, help women escape domestic violence, and allows others like care givers to get compensated.
Why do we need a universal basic income?
More than 780 million people live in extreme poverty on less than $1.90 per person per day. For these individuals, getting cash into their hands is the best way to improve their health and education outcomes as well as improve their quality of life.
Here in the US, nearly half of Americans are struggling to pay for their basic needs like housing, food, and healthcare. This is a problem not only affecting people living at or under the poverty line, but also middle-class Americans.
Politicians are boasting a strong current economy but the reality is that millions are living paycheck to paycheck (or no-paycheck to no-paycheck) and enduring incredible hardships. Hardships that have only been accentuated during the current coronavirus pandemic.
It is the low and middle class that will suffer the most as a result of the pandemic.
Artemes is a 2020 Version of Universal Basic Income & Sets Itself Apart in Three Ways:
1. Digital Coin
The Artemes Coin will utilize technology that will make it safe and accessible to distribute the basic income in a quick, easy, and reliable way. We see the current dilemma with sending stimulus checks for COVID 19 relief. With our system, this will be a problem of the past.
2. Global Solution
The current COVID 19 pandemic is proving to us just how interconnected we are on a global level. When one county, country, or continent suffers, we all suffer. This is an opportunity to make a really difference in health and economic outcomes.
3. Human Health
The pandemic highlights the fact that the current system is misaligned. The world needs a new economic system that prioritizes every last being on this planet, not just those who have figured out (or more likely have been born into) a way to corner the current economic game.
The Time Is NOW
We can’t wait another 50 years for the government to pass legislation for something we need NOW. And why should we when we have the technology, the systems, and the collective power to create positive change?
Rather than waiting for the government to make this happen, we can come together and create a positive twenty-first century solution for everyone.
