What does it mean to you to live an awakened life?

Realizing we are all from the same source and we are all one.
Understanding that to love unconditionally is the answer and it must start with loving yourself.
Feeling supported by sources outside yourself and know you are being guided when you need help.
Releasing any hold you place on situations or people from the past which might be impacting your ability to move forward.
Taking life more lightly and with humor as you watch yourself fumble around trying to figure things out.
Being kind to yourself when you do not learn what you are to learn right away.
Understanding that when life gets tough that there is beautiful opportunity in those moments to brush against your edges and uncover a truth that has of yet been hiding.
Relinquishing the death grip you sometimes hold on certain outcomes and trust the unfolding.

What put you on the path of awakening?

At the end of 1999 I experienced a series of what seemed to be unfortunate events… mostly bad decisions and a broken heart. Culminating the moment when someone I loved dearly said they could no longer be in my life because of my actions.

I viewed this person as the only one who truly saw and knew me, so it was a catastrophic soul level rejection. That night I plunged to the depths of despair. I had prolific and symbolic dreams where I was visited by an unknown entity who held my hand as I watched my life crash before me.

I cried as I never had before until my chest ached and my pillow was soaked and when I finally awoke… I was a new person. My thirst for spiritual knowledge and purpose was on fire and I entered the new millennium a new person.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone about deepening their connection to themselves and their spirituality?

To take a moment before you get up and start your day reading or listening to something that is focused on self-development. I personally try to start most mornings with some time spent journaling, expressing gratitude or reading a self development book before jumping into the day.

If you could wave a magic wand and everyone on planet earth would wake up with one quality or ability, what would that be?

People would fully love themselves. For when you do this you no longer seek to hurt or please others.

Rather your focus turns inward as you seek to become the best version of yourself which will have positive impact on all you associate with.

What’s the biggest difference in yourself from your pre-awakened state and your current awakened state?

The elevation of my gaze. Meaning, I am very clear on what I am to do in this lifetime and while the path from here to there seems challenging and sometimes impossible, because of this clarity I keep moving in that direction.

Also, I seem to have lost my fear of death… I might be a little nervous about how it happens, but do not dread the next phase.

What would constitute a perfect day to you? Can you describe it for us?

Sleep for 8 hours, make the perfect cup of press pot coffee, read Oneness for my daily lesson, work out, do work that doesn’t feel like work because it excites me so much, make good food choices, connect with my family and friends, kiss someone special, watch an episode of Holiday Baking Championship, be thankful for my many blessings and go to bed.

Do you have a favorite book you can recommend to readers?

Oneness…by far the most impactful book I have ever read and I read it over and over again and overtime it speaks to me in new ways.

What’s the best way for folks to connect with you?
